Welcome Ashton Washington
The old Bears weren’t like this, but I call it genius! Congratulations to Ashton Washington!

Congratulations to the Bears, as well! Anybody who rockets into that much responsibility that fast is exactly the kind of juggernaut the Chicago Bears will demand from their players.
How appropriate to have the Player Personnel Coordinator be the very embodiment of that vital trait!
Now, I’ve never met Ashton Washington. I’ve never heard her speak. I’ve only ever seen the one picture in the tweet above. So how do I know she is the kind of juggernaut I speak of?
Because look what she did! And how fast!
Yes, the Bears have seemed to be waking up to the idea that they, along with much of the NFL, have been living in the past. And, yes, some moves, like including the Directors of Diversity and of Player Engagement in their GM and HC hiring process, make it look like they may be further along the path to “modern thinking” than one might expect from the cornerstone franchise of the league.
The important thing today is that the Bears apparently *have* started to open their minds, and in so doing, they have been rewarded with a Gem.
Yes, I will stand by my assessment of Ashton Washington until I am presented with hard, credible evidence to the contrary!
I was thrilled last year when I heard that Ashton Washington was joining the club, but I am even more thrilled that she has made such a significant impression in less than a year. Seeing this announcement completely made my day.
So I am proud and delighted to welcome Ashton Washington belatedly, since this blog didn’t exist back then; even more so to congratulate her on her promotion; and ever so proud to wish her a long and happy career in Chicago, and a vital role in returning this franchise to greatness.
Bear Down and Pass the Halas Hall Kool Aid!
