Mina Kimes Over Dan Orlovsky In Boxing Match

I’m old, half way blind, and half past clumsy, and the last two predate the first by decades, so I’m clearly not in a position to threaten Dan Orlovsky. That’s lucky for me in the wake of Orlovsky’s latest uninformed cheap shot at the Chicago Bears and Darnell Mooney, as it strictly limits my options.

What I can say is that I’d really like to see Mina Kimes bloody Orlovsky’s nose in a boxing match! I’m too poor to sponsor the event myself, but I’ll gladly toss in $50 to see it on TV. I’ll bet another $50 on Kimes, even if Vegas puts her at a minus.

Here’s Dan Orlovsky, doing what he did to qualify for dishing out cheap shots on a national TV network: giving up a safety for one of the worst teams in the modern NFL!

And here is what Dan Orlovsky delivers as a “pundit” on NFL Live: Orlovsky says that Darnell Mooney, a WR ranked 19th in yards and 21st in catches in the 2021 NFL Season, is NOT a WR1, nay, not even a WR2!

Some teams have more than one guy in those rankings, so according to Dan Orlovsky, the Chicago Bears are one of over a dozen NFL teams  who lack a WR1, and nearly zero who do have a WR2! One wonders if the NFL agrees with Orlovsky’s assessment, and how profoundly embarrassed they must be, to be putting out such a sadly under-staffed product!

Fortunately, Luke Getsy not only seems to know what a moron Orlovsky is, but he also sees some serious holes in the public’s assessment of his WR room and the likely benefits of his new offense.

Don’t forget, this is a guy who watched the awfulness of Nagy’s three bad seasons from the opposite sideline SIX times! This is a guy who witnessed first hand the lack of “theme” or any discernable plan, while running a better plan on his side.

I know, it is his job to sound optimistic, but he probably has a better feel for what he can do with the personnel he has than anyone else in the world. Much like a carpenter standing by a pile of building materials has a clearer mental picture than anyone else of the structure he is about to erect.

Luke Getsy says Justin Fields should be able to improve with the WRs he has now, and I’ll put my money on Getsy vs Orlovsky OR Kimes on football matters, even faster than I’ll bet on Kimes to be quick enough to cheap shot Orlovsky in the ring!

Bear Down and Pass the Halas Hall Kool Aid!

Short version: I am too cerebral for the average football fan, so, like Dennis Miller on MNF, only not famous for SNL, or anything else. TL/NGR: I worked in Elk Grove Village in 1984, and listened to the entire 1985 season on AFRTS from my apartment near Naples (Bella Napoli) Italy. For many of the years since, I have been an unwilling fan, even tried to quit, but once you've had Halas Hall KoolAid, no other flavor can taste right. However, Halas Hall KoolAid is the name of this blog, because I like the sound of it better than "Laundry Loving, Homer, Fan Boy" which is what a lot of traditional Bears fans call me. The fact is, I am an optimist, but the "snake-bit" history of this club makes me want to be careful with my expectations. In a year like this, that takes on a whole new meaning. As an optimist, I can't possibly join the "this year is gonna suck" club, so my writing this year will often be about setting expectations, by which I have a realistic chance to be satisfied.
